
Mohamed Magd
Mohamed Shams Magd is a Ph.D. candidate in Civil & Environmental Engineering at Western University, researching data-driven safety methods that use harsh-braking signals to understand and improve driver behaviour near automated enforcement. Previously, he worked as a transportation planner/traffic engineer with multiple companies, delivering multimodal plans, network modelling, and micro/macro-simulation on projects across the Middle East. He holds an M.Sc. (Transportation Planning & Traffic Engineering) and a B.Sc. (Civil Engineering) from Cairo University. Mohamed’s technical stack spans VISUM/VISSIM, EMME, CUBE Voyager, SIDRA, Synchro, QGIS, and Python, with interests in optimization and ML for proactive safety.
