His career began as a computer scientist at the Fraunhofer IFF in Magdeburg, where he in charge of research projects in mobility and logistics. He was later responsible for IT projects in intralogistics in the automotive sector before he switched to ITS mobility in 2015. Here he accompanies and manages projects, initiatives and events in the field of intelligent transport systems. His main topics are intelligent infrastructures as well as automated and connected mobility solutions. He received his B.S. degree in Computer Science from the University of Crete in 2007, an M.Sc. degree in Business Economics, Finance, and Banking from the University of Portsmouth, and an M.Sc. degree in Service Engineering through a joint program involving the University of Crete (Greece), the University of Stuttgart (Germany), and Tilburg University (the Netherlands).
His main research interests include cloud computing, cybersecurity, and security by design. He is currently pursuing a PhD at the Technical University of Crete, where his research focuses on the design and development of AI-based intrusion detection systems, leveraging advanced machine learning models to analyse network traffic and detect malicious activity in complex, large-scale, and IoT-enabled environments.

Michael Nikowitz serves as the Coordinator for Automated Mobility at Austria’s Federal Ministry for Innovation, Mobility and Infrastructure (BMIMI). In this role, he is responsible for national strategies and action plans on automated mobility. He currently leads the development of a new regulatory framework for automated driving in Austria.
He holds a Master of Science in Engineering (Mechatronics & Robotics and Laser Engineering) from the University of Applied Sciences Technikum Vienna.
Before joining the ministry, Michael spent several years in the automotive sector as a robotics engineer and laser scientist, specializing in ultrashort-pulse laser systems. He later joined the Austrian Association for Advanced Propulsion Systems (A3PS), where he represented Austria at the International Energy Agency and co-authored technology roadmaps and working groups on eco-mobility and automated driving.
Since 2016, he has coordinated the Ministry’s initiatives on cooperative, connected, and automated mobility.
Alongside his government responsibilities, Michael lectures at universities on topics such as automated mobility, robotics, and laser engineering. He is also an active author of technical papers and industry publications on hybrid and electric vehicles as well as automated-mobility solutions.

Laurens Tait is a Director of Arup in the Netherlands responsible for the Transport Market.     The theme that drives Laurens Tait’s work is the continuous development of our understanding of how design and policy influence the (mobility) choices that people make and the influence that these choices have on social / economic / ecological outcomes at architectural / masterplan / city / national scale.    Within that theme, and with more than 20 years working on mobility related projects, Laurens has developed a wealth of experience in a.o. Gernot Sauter is Senior Regulatory Affairs Specialist in 3M’s Commercial Branding and Transportation Laboratory.  As a standardization expert, Gernot drives all EMEA certification and standardization efforts for the 3M Transportation Safety portfolio. Gernot is passionate about road safety and Vision Zero initiatives. He leads the Reflective Science Center in the Customer Technical Center based in Neuss, Germany. After my study history and Russian at the  university, which included a thesis research in Moscow, I entered the millitairy service with my training for the Special forces and became responsible for the communication during Operation Desert Storm and also for the routeplanning through Russia for foodtransport to St.Petersbrg by the Dutch Army.

I was one of the founders of a Parking management course (at DTV) and was also a member of the board of Vexpan (Dutch Parking Association) for 8 years. Since 2018 I am the Manager Operations for ‘Coöperatie Parkeerservice’. Grünfeld, born in 1965, is a graduate engineer (Dipl.-Ing.) and heads the Traffic Management and Traffic Strategy department at the Hamburg Port Authority (HPA), responsible for the land-side transport infrastructure of the Port of Hamburg. In this role, he oversees the optimization of the entire port road network – including traffic signals, intersections, and bridges – to make the daily 12,000–14,000 truck movements more efficient, less congested, and lower in emissions.
Before joining the HPA in 2012, he served as managing director and consultant in various companies in the fields of traffic management and traffic engineering.

The success of MYJalan was highlighted globally at the 27th World Road Congress in Prague, affirming Malaysia’s innovative and technology-driven approach to infrastructure responsiveness.
In advancing ITS nationally, he also promotes partnerships with industry players, academia, and state governments to support Malaysia’s ITS Roadmap 2030, encouraging data governance standards, digital infrastructure resilience, and sustainable mobility solutions aligned with the Madani Government’s aspirations. Hanne has been an active member of the ITS Norway board since 2018, serving as Chair from 2019 to 2024. In March 2025, she was appointed CEO of ITS Norway, where she continues to drive innovation and collaboration in intelligent transport systems.

Dagmar Hofsteede-Cats is project manager, program manager and process facilitator in various mobility projects. Coming from her Master in Urban Design and Planning (TU Eindhoven), Dagmar has developed her career further in the mobility sector. After years of experience in business development and strategy in the automotive industry, she has made the shift to the public sector.
Dagmar currently works as project manager of ROMO (Road Monitor) on behalf of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water management. The ROMO project fosters mobility data innovation by developing anonymized vehicle data into valuable information to improve road safety and road management. The project links 11 providers of datasets and information products to the wide audience of road authorities. From municipalities to provinces to national road management, from road safety hotspots to potholes to detection of slippery roads. He has been involved in several public transport projects (bridging research and practice) for over 20 years. Maaike Snelder is associate professor at the Department of Transport and Planning, Civil Engineering at the Delft University of Technology and principal scientist at TNO. She is co-director of the Sustainable Urban Multimodal Mobility Lab (SUM Lab) and Editor-in-Chief of the platinum open access European Journal of Transport and Infrastructure Research (EJTIR).
Maaike was/is principal investigator in the NWO research programs Mobility DesAIgn Lab, XCARCITY (co-lead), SUMMALab, ToGRIP and STAD (co-lead) and lead scientist in several other large projects focusing on the development of a next generation of traffic and transport models and the development of interactive network design methods.
Her research focuses on impact assessment and design of multimodal transport systems with a special interest in the resilience of networks and the impact of new mobility concepts like automated vehicles and shared mobility. Maaike has a broad experience in the development and application of static and dynamic, strategic and real-time traffic transport models and optimization models for network design. For example, she developed the new mobility modeler to assess impacts of new mobility concepts, she developed an optimization and impact assessment model for robust road network design, she led a joint research project on activity based models, she oversaw the development of the first real-time waterway traffic model for the canals of Amsterdam and lead the development of prediction and smart routing models in the context of the ‘Praktijkproef’ (field trial) in Amsterdam. Maaike completed her PhD research about robust road network design in 2010 (Cum Laude) and completed her study Econometrics in 2003.

A native of Zaandam, Jeroen Olthof served as an alderman for the municipality of Zaanstad from 2010 to 2018, with responsibilities including Housing, Sports, Youth and Social Care. CEO and founder

André Ingelse is a  program manager specializing in mobility data and traffic management at NDW (Nationale Databank Wegverkeersgegevens) in the Netherlands. With a broad expertise across the full mobility‑data chain, he works at the intersection of data quality, operational traffic management, and international collaboration. André plays a central role in ensuring that the data NDW provides is reliable, consistent, and fit for purpose. He works closely with government partners, technology suppliers, and service providers to build strong feedback loops that continuously improve data quality and usability.
In addition to his national responsibilities, André serves as task lead within the European TISGRADE project, driving coordination between EU Member States and private‑sector Service Providers. His work focuses on harmonizing data standards, aligning operational practices, and improving the cross‑border availability of traffic and mobility information. By bridging technical, organizational, and policy domains, he helps shape a more integrated European mobility ecosystem.
Known for his collaborative approach, André brings together stakeholders from multiple levels to strengthen data foundations that support future‑proof mobility services. His mission: enabling smarter, safer, and more efficient traffic management through high‑quality, openly accessible mobility data.

Digital Road Manager Coordinator

Myles Donnelly is an accomplished executive and digital transformation leader with extensive experience in e-Government solutions across Africa. As the Chief Sales and Marketing Officer at ICE Tech Technologies, Myles has played a pivotal role in advancing national digital infrastructure initiatives, with a focus on modernising border management systems and enabling smart government operations.
With a career spanning over 15 years in enterprise architecture, systems integration, and public-sector technology, Myles has led transformative projects that have streamlined customs, immigration, and transport operations for multiple governments. His expertise lies in aligning policy, infrastructure, and technology to deliver measurable improvements in efficiency, transparency, and compliance.
A recognised expert in land border digitisation, Myles was instrumental in the successful deployment of ICT systems for Africa’s largest land border modernisation project at Beitbridge, setting a new regional benchmark for digital trade facilitation and cross-border collaboration. Under his leadership, ICE Tech has continued to pioneer smart border ecosystems that integrate physical infrastructure with digital intelligence, enhancing both security and revenue performance.

Chief Sales & Marketing Officer

Basma is an economist and Certified ESG Analyst with over 14 years of experience advancing sustainability, climate and ESG strategies across global infrastructure and transport systems. Drawing on a decade of experience in the shipping sector, she brings a strong understanding of global supply chains and the link between transport, infrastructure and sustainable development. She specialises in green economy and sustainability transitions.
As Head of Policy, ESG & Sustainability at FIDIC, Basma leads the organisation’s global advocacy and thought leadership to embed decarbonisation, resilience and social value into infrastructure delivery. She serves as Project Manager for FIDIC’s Carbon Management Framework, a flagship initiative that integrates whole-life carbon management into infrastructure projects.
She also contributed to the development of the Nature-Positive Infrastructure Playbook, a joint FIDIC–WWF initiative providing guidance on integrating biodiversity and nature-positive principles into infrastructure planning and delivery.
Basma regularly represents FIDIC at international forums, where she works to advance collaborative, future-ready approaches to sustainable and inclusive infrastructure. She holds a Master’s in Economics from the American University in Cairo.

Head of Policy, ESG & Sustainability

Fernando Luiz Sossai Martinelli is Executive Director of Sinales Sinalização and Founder and CEO of Atman Systems. He holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from the Federal University of Espírito Santo (UFES) and from Formazione – Politecnico di Torino, Italy. He has extensive experience in urban mobility, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), and road infrastructure management. For over 14 years, he has been involved in the development of technological solutions applied to traffic management and public signaling systems. He leads multidisciplinary teams in highly complex projects, with a focus on innovation, efficiency, and road safety.
