Intertraffic Mexico, Anasevi and the IV Ibero-American Congress of ITS announce strategic alliance 2021

Mexico City, July 21, 2021.- Two international events announce their strategic alliance, which will allow joining efforts to achieve the sustainable mobility objectives of the Second Decade of Action for Road Safety 2021-2030, proclaimed by the United Nations, using intelligent transport systems (ITS). These are Intertraffic and the IV Ibero-American Congress on Intelligent Transportation Systems, or “ITS” for its acronym in English.

With this alliance of events, resources, solutions, and technology for the sector are made available to the industry.

Both forums are leaders in the mobility industry worldwide and this collaboration will allow to promote the process of economic recovery, after a complex year that has been atypical because of Covid-19 in the transport and mobility sector globally.

The synergy will allow the global industry to collaborate in the work aimed at achieving the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations (UN) Agenda 2030, which seek to guarantee access to sustainable and safe transport systems, have quality mobility infrastructure to support economic development and social welfare, as well as reduce the number of accidents and deaths caused by road mishaps.

Intertraffic Mexico and the IV ITS Ibero-American Congress on Sustainable Mobility and Road Safety will be held from November 9 to 11 at the Citibanamex Center in Mexico City.

"This alliance will set a benchmark in the industry to face mobility challenges in the region, and will be the meeting point for authorities, transport network operators, private companies, construction sectors, infrastructure, automotive and mobility providers" - José Navarro, General Director of Tarsus México.

The Congress will have the participation of industry experts, academics, and Ibero-American authorities from countries such as Argentina, Colombia, Costa Rica, Spain, Mexico and the Dominican Republic, among others, as well as multilateral organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO), the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the Ibero-American General Secretariat (SEGIB) and the World Bank (WB).

“The objective of the alliance between ANASEVI, Intertraffic and ITS Mexico, to carry out the IV ITS Ibero-American Congress in Mexico, is to show how intelligent transport systems act to make sustainable mobility and road safety possible in Ibero-American cities, presenting success stories and best practices of urban transport systems”, says Oscar de Buen Richkarday, president of the ITS Ibero-American Congress.

"We seek to ensure that the main issues on current ITS in the region are addressed, with the participation of the public administration, transport operators, private companies, research centers and universities, from the different countries that make up our community”, commented José Lozano, president of ITS Iberoamérica.

“With the application of Intelligent Transportation Systems, we will be able to halve the number of deaths, injuries and traffic events in Mexico. We consolidate the path towards a Common Destination: Sustainable Mobility and Road Safety for all in 2030”, comment Arturo Cervantes, president of the National Alliance for Road Safety (ANASEVI), and José Azcárate, president of the ITS México Society.

In this fifth edition, Intertraffic Mexico will present an important sample of companies that offer innovative solutions to accelerate the transition of mobility in Mexico and the region, in addition to promoting knowledge and know-how among industry professionals.
