The only future of Parking & Mobility is human-centered
Urban mobility is evolving rapidly, driven by technological innovation - but cities are complex ecosystems, and there is a fine line between too much technology and true user-centricity. The focus must always remain on the people who move through these spaces. SKIDATA understands this and offers a flexible solution that goes beyond parking, supporting the entire journey - from finding a space to reaching destinations via various modes of transport. While multimodalism is essential, the reality is that almost two-thirds of urban trips are still made by car. This makes parking not just relevant, but a central tool for influencing behavior, shaping smarter mobility, and reimagining urban space. By connecting systems like transport, energy, and public services, cities can improve traffic flow, reduce emissions, and enhance accessibility. Real-time data and predictive analytics personalize experiences and optimize operations. Already in use in cities like Linköping and Santa Barbara, SKIDATA’s mobile solutions simplify access and payment. At Intertraffic 2026, SKIDATA invites stakeholders to co-create more livable, user-centered cities.

Thomas Pühringer is Senior Director and Head of Solution Portfolio Management at SKIDATA. He leads global strategy across Parking & Mobility and Visitor Management, shaping integrated platforms that connect infrastructure, payments, and digital services. Over more than twenty years in product strategy and portfolio leadership, Thomas has built a reputation for transforming complex requirements into scalable, customer‑centric solutions adopted by operators and cities worldwide.
His approach to Mobility as a Service (MaaS) bridges technology, policy, and user experience. By aligning stakeholders and standards, he helps cities move from fragmented systems to interoperable ecosystems that make mobility simpler, cleaner, and more inclusive. Thomas advocates for putting people at the center—using real‑time data and predictive analytics to personalize journeys, optimize operations, and inform better planning decisions.
In Brussels, he will share insights on the evolving role of MaaS in shaping future cities: how parking can become a strategic lever for behavior change; how multimodal hubs, digital wallets, and in‑car interfaces reduce friction; and how cross‑sector collaboration—across transport, energy, and public services—enables measurable outcomes such as lower emissions, improved flow, and broader accessibility. Attendees will gain practical guidance and case examples to accelerate user‑centered mobility in their own contexts.
