Continuous Safety: Using ITS and predictive science to automate road safety decisions
An inflection point is needed in road safety because progress has stalled with current efforts. Miovision proposes to unlock progress with a new approach where ITS enables road safety decisions that are founded on predictive science, structured through warrants, and scaled through automation. The concepts of foundation on science, structure through warrants, and scale through automation will be developed through summaries of five recent research papers published by Miovision and university partners. The approach will be illustrated in our new solution called Continuous Safety Monitoring.

Craig Milligan has completed more than 600 road safety audits and has developed numerous road safety technologies in the areas of ITS, video analytics, and V2X. He was the CEO of MicroTraffic before it was acquired by Miovision, where he continues to serve as a product advisor. He currently is managing director of Fireseeds North where he is a consultant to governments and private companies in road safety. He has a PhD in road safety engineering from University of Manitoba.
