PaxLife Innovations GmbH wins contract to modernize passenger information system for Stadtwerke Remscheid (SR) as part of ZOB renovation and redesign of Friedrich-Ebert-Platz
As part of the ZOB renovation and the redesign of Friedrich-Ebert-Platz in Remscheid, PaxLife Innovations is deploying a Dynamic Passenger Information (DFI) system for Stadtwerke Remscheid built for the digital age. This manufacturer-independent platform centralizes the management of diverse display technologies by integrating real-time data streams into a single, automated interface. By eliminating the need for hardware adjustments and streamlining maintenance, the system ensures consistent and efficient communication across the city’s entire transit infrastructure.
station (ZOB) and the redesign of Friedrich-Ebert-Platz.
Designed to significantly improve the quality of passenger information in Remscheid's local transport system, the new Dynamic Passenger Information System (DFI) from PaxLife Innovations meets modern requirements for digitalisation in public transport, as well as passengers' increased expectations for transparency and punctuality. The DFI management system from PaxLife Innovations is designed to combine all common display technologies – from TFT displays to e-paper solutions – in one central system. The new TFT displays have already been successfully put into operation in Remscheid, and the next step is to seamlessly integrate the existing e-paper displays without the need for additional hardware adjustments. In addition, the system enables Stadtwerke Remscheid´s operating personnel to efficiently disseminate automated and rule-based passenger information in a simple manner. It combines all relevant data
streams (VRR, ITCS) in one system, thus ensuring accurate and enriched information in real time. This manufacturer-independent approach means that Stadtwerke Remscheid's display landscape can be centrally controlled in the future. This offers significantly greater efficiency in maintenance and ensures consistent, reliable passenger information across the entire infrastructure.
