2DRoad - Road Condition in 2 Dimensions
2DRoad is the first road condition sensor worldwide which features sensing of the road pavement in two dimensions (2D) by 4096 simultaneous sensing points to detect if the road is slippery due to wetness, snow or ice. 2DRoad is a stationary non-invasive sensor which offers a full multi-lane description of friction and road surface condition in an area up to 6 x 6 metres wide. The sensor also provides a visual image and remote road surface temperature measured approximately in the centre of the scanned area.

MetRoad - Road Condition with Laser Backscattering
MetRoad is a laser sensor for monitoring road condition such as dry, wet, icy and snowy and estimating the friction between the road and the wheels of vehicle.
The MetRoad uses patented technology for non intrusive monitoring of the road surface. Information from MetRoad can be used to warn a driver of low road friction or hazardous road conditions, or sent to a central location for implementation into maintenance decision support systems.
The working principle is spectral analysis of backscattered laser.
