Urban mobility, Mumbai style
Mumbai is set to introduce 11 Candela P-12 hydrofoiling electric ferries, ordered by local operator JalVimana, as part of a new sustainable water-based transport network. The ferries will reduce energy use by up to 80% compared to diesel vessels, offering a smoother and faster ride by gliding above the waves.

The first routes will link the Gateway of India with Alibaug and Elephanta Island, with plans to connect the new Navi Mumbai airport to the city centre. This will significantly cut travel times and help ease congestion, positioning Mumbai as a global leader in eco-friendly urban water transport.
