Government Mexico confirms $25 million pesos to Electric Vehicle charging stations

Mexico’s Government announced this week the resources for 100 Electric Vehicle charging centers in the metropolitan areas of Mexico City and Guadalajara. The government allocated $25 million pesos to the installation. The network consolidates thousand publicly-owned electric station in the country, becoming the first of its kind in Mexico.

Pedro Joaquín Coldwell, the Secretary of Energy, said during the forum of sustainability, urban mobility and electricity that electric cars are a good investment for the country because the energy it requires is cheaper, less maintenance and lower taxes.
