Central server to manage firmware/configuration
Managing a large-scale network of routers can be a daunting task. Is the firmware of a particular router up-to-date? Which configuration does that particular router have? Not knowing that basic information means that the network could be vulnerable to cyber-attack. New cyber-security laws mandate that operators be aware of the CVE's (common vulnerabilities and exposures) which could affect their router fleet and to take action in the event that firmware or configuration needs to be updated.
