Why Mark Rite Lines exhibits during Intertraffic Mexico

Mark Rite Lines Equipment Company, Inc (MRL) has manufactured pavement marking and grooving equipment for over 40 years and designs and builds traffic paint, thermoplastic, plural component, and line removal/ pavement grooving equipment with a reputation for reliability and high productivity. We asked MRL director Joseph Varca to explain why the company have decided to once again to occupy stand space at November’s Intertraffic Mexico show.

How do you see the Mexican smart mobility and smart parking market?
Mark Rite Lines (MRL) is focused on providing the most robust line marking equipment to the Mexican market enhancing current modes of line marking. Additionally, we see paint integrity with improved reflectivity to be critical in overall smart mobility progress in the future.

Who are your major clients in the country and what category of new client are you looking to attract?
The Mexican market is mostly contractor-direct but access to capital is challenging. As the world’s largest manufacturer of road striping equipment, we are always interested in discussing distribution to better service the Mexican market.

Are you looking to expand your reach beyond North America into Central and South America?
MRL is part of Federal Signal, a US$1.1billion corporation with global distribution in key Latin American markets. Key brands under Federal Signal are Elgin sweepers, Vactor sewer trucks, Guzzler vacuum trucks and Jetstream high-pressure pumps, in addition to MRL, so the reach is actually already in place.

What opportunities are there for companies based outside of Mexico to make a significant imprint in that market?
Mexico has substantial potential for US companies due to long-standing significance as a trading partner and easy access between countries. It has always been challenging but with placement of strategic partners in country, Mexico can be a very large market for any US company focusing on international business. Monterrey is a key city for us, besides Mexico City.
