The Slim Highway Concept offers a solution by rethinking traditional highway cross-sections. By utilizing innovative precast concrete vehicle restraint systems (VRS) with minimal space requirements, existing traffic infrastructure can be optimized. These new slim barriers offer highest safety levels, with very low dynamic displacement and vehicle intrusion. The key is the combination and integration of additional functions into the safety barrier: noise protection, fences, gantry & light poles.
