DMV Vehicle activated signs are signs with built-in Doppler radar, activated when an approaching vehicle exceeds threshold speed. They are used to reduce speed on dangerous road sections or to announce dangerous road situations. Because of the small power consumption, DMV VAS signs are suitable to be solar-powered.
