Nominees announced for the Intertraffic Award Latin America 2018

Thursday, 1 November 2018

Intertraffic, the leading B2B event for traffic technology and mobility worldwide, will hold its second edition of the Intertraffic Award Latin America in Mexico in two weeks. The Award acknowledges companies and organizations that actively solve today’s and tomorrow’s mobility challenges.

Numerous thinkers and creators in Infrastructure, Traffic Management, Smart Mobility, Road Safety, and Parking submitted their sustainable and innovative project for the Intertraffic Award Latin America 2018. The jury, consisting of renowned members of the College of Civil Engineers in Mexico (CICM), the National Commission for Efficient Energy Use (CONUEE), the Mexican Transportation Institute (IMT), the National Autonomous University of Mexico, along with the Mexico City Autonomous University, and P&R Consultants shortlisted three groundbreaking projects:

LIVINK is an innovative service that has been entirely developed by Autotraffic and is the only one of its kind in the Mexican market. The Smart Mobility Service enables the collection of information for specialized mobility analyses. Its services include sensor installation, traffic counts and a methodology for evaluating public spaces and infrastructure. It aims to assess the efficacy of highways, carry out pilot tests of solutions to traffic problems in real time and create proposals for the improvement of urban mobility.

In august 2018, Livink service solved issues that led to the closure of a main road in the city of Puebla. Said closure meant that all vehicles had to take a side road which, in turn, led to traffic congestion. Through Livink, mobility studies were carried out in the area which fed road traffic simulation software, and through the specialized analysis, it was able to propose a solution which benefited not only the flow of vehicular traffic but also pedestrian traffic in the area.

EcoTrafiX™ integrates the urban traffic management and control systems that were working independently across four subsystems in Buenos Aires into one single platform. Thanks to the processing and management of the information generated by EcoTrafiX™, authorities have been able to efficiently plan mobility strategies for the city, and coordination between the departments responsible for event management and response plans in the face of emergencies, road blocks and accidents has also been improved.

This comprehensive solution benefits over three million citizens of Buenos Aires and nine million in the surrounding metropolitan area, whilst leaving the preexisting infrastructure unchanged. As a result, Buenos Aires has become one of this first “Smart Cities” in Latin America.

Pumatronix has developed COMPARE a innovative software which use the last techniques of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to construct the digital description of each image. This software allows you to find a particular vehicle within an image database by analyzing the similarity. We can compare this software to a digital fingerprint, where each vehicle will have your own digital description in a small bytes structure which will be used in the comparison being much more efficient then image comparison.

In a real situation in a toll road in Brazil, a lot of trucks hide the license plates to not pay the taxes butin front of a police station they uncover the license plate. In that point a freeflow camera was installed and using the image registered by this camera theycould find and count all times the truck cross the all tolls in the road without paying

Pumatronix is a Brazilian reference in the supply of products for registration and vehicular identification in Brazil, in commercial expansion for all America, Europe and also Asia.

The overall winner will be announced at the award ceremony during the official opening of Intertraffic Mexico 2018 on November 13th. All three nominees will be showcased at stand 1230 during exhibition hours.
