The second edition of Intertraffic Mexico attracted high profile visitors from 31 different nationalities, eager to exchange visions and solutions for today’s and tomorrow’s mobility challenges in Latin America and beyond. Representatives of the 180 exhibiting companies were particularly satisfied with the level of business done during the three event days at Centro Citibanamex. As a result, a high number of exhibitors confirmed their participation for the next edition. Intertraffic Mexico 2018 will take place from 13 to 15 November 2018.

The vibe on the show floor was good, undoubtedly because many visitors were key decision makers. The exhibitors rated the show as an ideal business platform which went to show at the Intertraffic re-book stand where 65% of the available floor space for 2018 was reserved on the spot.

The conference programme which was held alongside the exhibition put extra emphasis on the current mobility challenges in the region. Speakers presented relevant topics such as implementation of mass transport, how to optimize city resources and improve the mobility of citizens at the same time, EV advances and on- and off street parking solutions. One of the most futuristic presentations was held by Diana Zhou from Hyperloop on the future of mobility and attracted a large international crowd.

On Thursday evening the winner of the first “Intertraffic Award Latin America” was revealed during a festive exhibitor cocktail. From a shortlist of three nominees (Autotraffic, Pumatronix and SICE), the Smart mobility platform of Autotraffic was announced as 2017 Winner due its innovative and sustainable character. They received the prize out of the hands of Editha Hoogenberg-Derksen, Exhibition Manager Intertraffic Mexico at RAI Amsterdam, and Laura Barrera, Show Director Intertraffic Mexico at E.J. Krause Tarsus de Mexico.

The representative from Autotraffic was very grateful for the prize and said “It’s a recognition for all the hard work of our employees and partners at Autotraffic Mexico. Together we have been working for fourteen years to improve mobility and traffic safety in Mexico. This acknowledgement is a push to move forward and to stimulate mobility in the right direction.”

During the final day of the exhibition some visitors took the opportunity to join the site visit to the CITI (Intelligent Transport Information Center), the metropolitan transportation network of Mexico City. A very nice addition to the already packed event days at Centro Citibanamex. One of the attendees, from Brazil, said to be honored to attend and excited to participate in a conversation about the future of mobility and the strategies of the Americas in this area.
