Intertraffic Amsterdam concludes 23rd edition on an all time high
Intertraffic Amsterdam 2016, the world’s leading trade event for infrastructure, traffic management, smart mobility, safety and parking was one of the best events of its kind ever staged. The variety of companies, presentations from world-leading authorities, ground-breaking innovations and record numbers through the doors all combined to create an event unsurpassed in its reach and scope. The Intertraffic content and network programme was exceptionally well received, meeting the ever increasing needs for knowledge exchange and learning opportunities. Intertraffic Amsterdam is organised by RAI Amsterdam and took place from 5 to 8 April.

Smart Mobility Theatre
From Tuesday 5 until Thursday 7 April, the Smart Mobility Theatre covered themes such as ITS Developments, Automated & Cooperative Driving, Smart Mobility Services, Big Data, Traffic and Transport Efficiency. The Friday programme was co-organized by Acquire Publishing, WOW and CROW and was especially focused on Dutch national, regional and local road operators.

Winners Intertraffic Innovation Awards
Innovation and excellence was rewarded at the world’s largest trade fair for the traffic infrastructure, management, safety, parking and smart mobility sectors, when the winners of the 2016 Intertraffic Innovation Awards were announced.
An international jury has scrutinized 91 potential candidates and after careful analysis and consideration has shortlisted 15 final entries. The awards were presented in five categories: Infrastructure, Traffic Management, Safety, Parking, and Smart Mobility.
One of these five winners has also been chosen as the overall winner of the 2016 Intertraffic Innovation Award. The Awards were be presented on 5 April during the opening ceremony of Intertraffic Amsterdam 2016.

European Truck Platooning Challenge
The European Truck Platooning Challenge was present at the Smart Mobility Center during Intertraffic Amsterdam 2016. At the stand visitors saw a movie-presentation with all information about truck platooning: the technics behind platooning, the benefits, the need to work together, the joined vision in Europe…and a very unique momentum: the landing of the first EU Truck Platooning Challenge at Maasvlakte II!
Smart Cities Side-Event
H3B Media and the Thinking Cities Alliance organised a Smart Cities Side-Event at Intertraffic Amsterdam 2016. The half-day event took place on Wednesday 6 April, day two of the show, in an especially modified conference room within the RAI and includes a smart city mobility technology tour around the exhibition floor, site visits in Amsterdam, an opening plenary featuring keynote speeches and short films, and 11 parallel Thinking Cities Roundtable Discussions. The event was co-hosted by Thinking Cities magazine and the Amsterdam Smart City innovation platform.
Tijdens de WegbeheerderTalks tijdens Intertraffic Amsterdam 20161 stond het thema ‘Nu, slim voorsorteren op de weg van de toekomst’, centraal. Het programma bestond uit 4 talks en was opgebouwd van toekomstbeeld, naar bouw van de toekomstige weg, naar de problemen van nu. Oftewel: van beeld naar werkelijkheid.
The comprehensive seminar, theatre, and demonstration programme has been very well received. Thousands of visitors took advantage of the opportunity to join the 80+ free sessions during Intertraffic Amsterdam 2016.
