With 130 years of history behind it, the German company Scheidt & Bachmann is today a well-known brand in the parking world.

Thanks to its 20 subsidiaries in Europe, the US, Asia, Africa and the Pacific region, S&B products can be found all over the world. The company has been exhibiting at Intertraffic Amsterdam since the 1980s. We talked to two staff members for a recap of the 2006 exhibition. Markus Schneider is technical director of the largest of the four S&B divisions, which covers parking and leisure (the latter including a range of products developed for the entrance control of major sports facilities). Norbert Crynen is, among other things, responsible for marketing.
Professional level of our visitors
"Our stand in Amsterdam is near the entrance, so visitors interested in parking cannot miss us," Crynen explains. "Indeed, this edition of the trade fair was a great success for us, with visitors from all parts of the world in attendance. The US was somewhat underrepresented, so we look forward to meeting more American contacts at Intertraffic North America next year. Furthermore, the professional level of our visitors was very high and much better than at other comparable shows. The high proportion of decision-makers at the Amsterdam exhibition made all our efforts more than worthwhile." "Everybody agrees that, since its first edition in 1972, Intertraffic Amsterdam has grown to the most important event for the parking industry worldwide," Schneider says. "The challenge for the organisers is to safeguard this position while circumstances are continuously changing. Exhibitors are usually aware of the cost/benefit ratio of their participation in trade fairs and we are no exception. This is why we are confident that Intertraffic will succeed in keeping up the standard which has made the formula so successful."
